Senior Software Engineer (Full-stack / Ruby)

About the Role

We're looking for a mid-to-senior full stack engineer to join the Urby team. You'll work across the stack — our current setup is Rails and Flutter, but we're open to strong engineers from any modern frontend + backend background.

Your job isn't to write code — it's to solve problems. You'll own problems end-to-end: diagnosing what's actually wrong, figuring out the fix, shipping it, and tracking whether it worked. If you're waiting for someone to hand you a detailed spec, this isn't the role.

You'll work closely with real users — if you enjoy talking directly to the people you're building for and seeing how they actually use what you ship, you'll like it here.

We're a startup. Priorities shift. Requirements are often ambiguous. You need to be comfortable with that uncertainty, understand our objectives and able to make decisions with incomplete information.

Requirements

• Ownership mindset — "not my job" isn't in your vocabulary
• Solid experience across frontend and backend development
• Ability to pick up new languages and frameworks quickly
• Strong debugging instincts — you dig until you find the root cause
• Comfort with ambiguity and changing priorities

Nice to have

Not mandatory — strong engineers from different backgrounds are welcome.

• Fintech or regulated industry experience
